Kris Boyd scored the opener for Portland Timbers against a Los Angeles side fielding David Beckham, Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane, to no avail. Shortly after, he had a potential second ruled out narrowly for offside, the Galaxy equalised to send the sides in level at half time.

Eventually, they succumbed to two late goals from the Galaxy, including a long range effort from Beckham, to sink to their fourth successive loss.
