Bottom Teams Meet

05 April 2011 14:55
Pride at stake at the very bottom of the SFL Defenders Alan Lithgow and Ally Park are once again expected to miss out for Clyde through injury for tonight's game against Montrose, with midfielder Paul McMullan also sidelined with a knock. Striker Marc McCusker could join them after suffering a hamstring injury in the 1-0 defeat to Annan at the weekend. Victory for Jim Duffy's men would pull them to within three points of the Gable Endies with three games in hand. But Duffy is more interested in the performance than points to be gathered, saying: "My only target since coming here was to make Clyde a competitive team on the park. We need to do better in the final third as we missed a wee creative spark on Saturday and hopefully we can get that against Montrose.''   PO TEAM P W D L F A GD Pts 1 Arbroath 30 17 5 8 66 50 16 56 2 Annan Athletic 31 15 9 7 52 39 13 54 3 Albion Rovers 31 15 8 8 50 35 15 53 4 Stranraer 31 13 11 7 64 52 12 50 5 Queens Park 31 14 4 13 46 39 7 46 6 Berwick Rangers 31 11 11 9 54 47 7 44 7 Elgin City 30 11 6 13 44 53 -9 39 8 East Stirling 30 8 4 18 28 52 -24 28 9 Montrose 30 7 6 17 37 50 -13 27 10 Clyde 27 5 6 16 31 55 -24 21   Gordon Pope is again likely to be posted missing from the Montrose defence as he struggles to shake off an injury.  The Gable Endies are looking to build on their first win in six games - a 1-0 win against Elgin at the weekend. The Links Park side have the target of moving above East Stirling and create a six-point gap on their hosts with a win.  Interim manager Ray Farningham said: "We converted one of our chances against Elgin and then kept them out. That was a very encouraging sign as we`ve been struggling to score recently and have been making mistakes at the back. It will be a tough test at Broadwood but hopefully we can use the Elgin game as inspiration to get another win.''
