Ray McKinnon has turned to an old colleague to lend a hand at Glebe Park

Brechin City’s new man in the manager's chair has brought in new backroom help after Kevin McGowne, Andy Millen and George Browning all left in the wake of Jim Weir’s sacking. Ray McKinnon has turned to former Glebe Park player Grant Johnston to be his assistant. Johnston started his footballing career alongside McKinnon at Dundee United in 1990 and he went on to combine his footballing career at Huddersfield Town, Clydebank, Alloa, Montrose and Brechin with studying for a law degree. McKinnon said: "I am delighted to be appointed at Brechin and delighted that Grant is joining me. Both of us are looking forward to getting started at the club. We have heard nothing but good things about Brechin City and we will give 100% effort to the job."
