Jim Jefferies has made his first move in the transfer market for Dunfermline

The Pars have secured the first signing for their new manager Jim Jefferies, They have now received  international clearance to sign Spanish goalkeeper Bernardo. A new face was required with first-choice keeper Paul Gallacher out for the rest of the season (shoulder injury) and Ian Turner heading back to Preston after his ill-fated loan spell was ended early by an injury. This left Chris Smith with no cover in Dunfermline's survival fight to stay in the SPL. Bernardo was available for a move after leaving Spanish Segunda Division side SD Huesca in January. He has also played for Alaves, Tenerife and Recreativo Huelva.
