Battle Of Britain

Some serious bragging rights are available on Sunday as the two top teams in Scotland and England meet for the first time

Scottish Champions Glasgow City take on English treble winners and former Champions of Europe, Arsenal this Sunday in a pre-season challenge game at Petershill Park. The game represents the first time the two sides have ever met and although a pre-season challenge game, it is already being classed as the first Battle of Britain in women's football.

Arsenal boast some of the finest players ever to come out of the UK and feature Scottish duo Kim Little and Jenny Beattie. The pair will come up against no less than eight of their international team mates when the sides line up on Sunday. The game is also the first one played at home by Glasgow City since the very successful BBC Alba documentary came to an end on Thursday night. A TV crew followed the nation's best at home and in Europe for the whole last season. The entire series can now be viewed on BBC iPlayer.
