Bad Break

You don't need to be scrambling around for a temp 'keeper at this stage of the transfer window

Arbroath manager Paul Sheerin is watching the time towards the transfer window's end as he may have to find a goalkeeper quickly. Regular 'keeper Darren Hill faces being out for even longer than the eight weeks intitially predicted. Hill broke his arm in the Red Lichties game with Ayr United 10 days ago and the initial assessment is that he will be out for nearly two months. However Sheerin is concerned that could estimate be extended after the player required a whole arm plaster. Sheerin said: "Darren is in the whole arm plaster for 4 weeks and then a smaller one for another 4 weeks and there is no-way he can go straight back in after that. He will need a few weeks of building himself up before returning, so it looks like it could be December until he is available again." Arbroath had to call on Tony Bullock to play in Saturday's 3-2 win over Alloa. The veteran was recruited during the summer as a goalkeeping coach and as cover in an emergency. Sheerin said: "Tony is a very experienced shot-stopper but we are very exposed if something happens to him. I am speaking to the Chairman to see if there is anything we can do about bringing someone in."
