Back To Away Form Please
Dunfermilne preferred the winning ways and want to get back to that starting today. Paul Gallacher picked up his first award of the season after being named SPL player of the month award for July and August this week. He hopes that this will be the foundation for the Pars to get get back on track after successive defeats. Gallacher was name player of the month after saving two penalties and keeping three clean sheets. The award period has been a bit up and down for the SPL new boys as they secured back-to-back away wins at St Johnstone and Dundee United but followed that with a Scottish Communities League Cup loss at East Fife and a home defeat by Motherwell. The former St Mirren 'keeper headed back to East End Park in the summer and aims to return to that away SPL form when they take on Kilmarnock at Rugby Park today. Gallacher said: "It's been a short time since I came back and we've done all right. There is room for improvement, throughout the whole team, not only myself. We've had some great victories on the road and it's something to build on. It was a bad week before the international break so we're looking to bounce back as soon as possible. We're looking to rectify the errors but it's a tough game for us. They are playing well, they have some good attacking talent in the team." Manager Jim McIntyre is also looking to pick up another set of three away points but he knows the Pars are in for a tough test against Kilmarnock. The Ayrshire side also suffered their first SPL defeat of the season just before the international break, conceding a late goal in a 2-1 defeat at Inverness. McIntyre said: "We're delighted with our away form. We've had wee bits of luck along the way allied to good performances. I've watched them twice myself and I know how good a side they are. They knock the ball about well, it's entertaining for their punters so we know how difficult a game it will be. They will be looking to bounce back also from their defeat up at Inverness."
