Another Nigel Takes To Scottish Football
Hamilton are giving a famous name a chance. Hamilton have signed Nigel Hasselbaink from PSV Eindhoven. The 19-year-old centre-forward is the nephew of former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Hamilton hope to have international clearance through for Hasselbaink to appear in tonight's Co-operative Insurance Cup second-round game against Raith in Kirkcaldy. But they are confident of at least having him available for Saturday's SPL trip to Inverness. The teenager had a spell on loan with Go Ahead Eagles last season and has scored several goals during trial games for Accies following a similar trial period with Dundee United. Manager Billy Reid said: "Nigel gives us more options up front, he is pacy and has a good shot. I've liked what I've seen in him."
