Scott McLaughlin must like coming up for Ayr

Midfielder Scott McLaughlin has signed for Ayr United a third time. Following John Robertson’s retirement, the former Hamilton Accies, Livingston, Morton, Airdrie United, Queen of the South and Peterhead man has been made captain of the Somerset Park club. McLaughlin played for a season with the Honest Men earlier in his career before re-joining them on loan last March after a fallout with Manager Jim McInally at Balmoor where he was half-way through a two year contract. That deal has now been cancelled to allow McLaughlin to make his loan move permanentMcLaughlin said: "When I came back earlier this year it was an easy decision to make. Last season was nowhere near good enough for a club like Ayr United and we are looking to do a lot better this time out. It means everything to captain Ayr United because it is such a great club."
