Dunmbarton want out of the Second Division and are willing to invest in their future Dumbarton are pushing the boat out as they push for promotion to the First Division. They have signed striker Dennis Wyness following his release from SPL's St Mirren last month. Wyness may have started his career at Aberdeen, but he made a name for himself at Inverness Caledonian Thistle where he scored over one hundred goals during two spells at the club. Wyness also had spells with Hearts and he carved his name in the history of the Paisley Saints just over a year ago when he scored the first St Mirren goal at their New St Mirren Park against Kilmarnock. Sons managerJim Chapman said: "I am absolutely delighted to bring a quality signing in Dennis Wyness to this club. Dennis has fantastic experience and we have a bunch of very talented young forwards who will be delighted to have him here so they can learn from him. The likes of Roddy Hunter, Dennis McLaughlin and Derek Carcary can only become better players through working with Dennis." Chapman has had to be patient to land the striker. He said: "We started working on this deal back in January and had to wait to see what else would happen during the transfer window. It shows the ambition of Dumbarton FC that we went in for Dennis and I am delighted he is here now. His arrival will give our hopes to move up the table a real shot in the arm."
