Always Worry When The Board Sings Your Praises

Boards tend to back their manager just before he gets the push. Will Stranraer buck that trend?

Perhaps Stranraer manager Stephen Aitken should be worried after his board heaped praised on him for job he has done since being appointed back in October, taking over from Keith Knox. Aitken stepped from his assistant role with the Stair Park club when they were rooted to the foot of the Second Division. He took them from a position of only having five points from nine games to Second Division safety when Stenhousemuir were beaten 2-1 at the weekend .Club Director Shaun Niven said: "Stephen has done a fantastic job to turn things around in the manner that he has. It was always going to be difficult to replace a club legend like Keith and Stephen handled that aspect well to. He can be proud of the turnaround that he oversaw especially when you consider it is his first job in management. Everyone at our club is delighted with the job he has done."
