Alloa Build On Youth Players

Teams are having to throw young players in at the deep end and they appear to be strong swimers at Alloa. Alloa manager Allan Maitland has had to call on his Youth Team players to keep them at the top of the table. The bench for Saturday's 0-0 game against Arbroath was full of youth players and on Tuesday night the Wasps struck in injury time for the third home game in a row to see off Stirling Albion 2-1 to leave Maitland pleased as Punch. Speaking of the Tuesday night result, Maitland said: “That was a great result when you consider we have so many young boys in the team. They have helped us gain a draw and two wins in the last seconds of games and I cannot praise them high enough. Our Head of Youth, Hugh McCann, deserves great credit for providing players like Jamie Hay, Ross Philp, Marc McCafferty and Jason Thomson for me to use in first team games.” Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba net)This is Scottish-Fitba.Net
