Darren Smith and not Para Handy is being looked at to provide the midfield spark to Alloa's game. Alloa manager Allan Maitland believes the lack of creativity in the middle of the park cost his side promotion last season. This year he is looking to new signing Darren Smith to add that dimension to his squad and hopefully deliver the promotion place Maitland has set as a target. The former Brechin City and Raith Rovers midfielder signed on at Recreation Park during the summer with Maitland impressed with what he has seen during his side’s pre-season games.Maitland said: "We missed a player that could unlock defences last season particularly during the run in and from what I have seen Darren can do that with ease. I am confident that his abilities will help us in the Championship chase this time out." Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba net)This is Scottish-Fitba Net
