A mountain was made out of a molehill after a banana was tossed onto the Emirates pitch. After consultation with the Metropolitan Police, Arsenal have confirmed that a German tourist has admitted throwing a banana onto the pitch during the Brazil v Scotland International friendly at Emirates Stadium on Sunday. The teenager was sitting in the North Bank , an area of the stadium which was occupied by the official allocation of tickets to Brazil supporters, when he threw the banana onto the pitch during the second half of the game. The Metropolitan Police is satisfied there was no racist intent and have confirmed that no further action will be taken. The Match Commander at the game had already commended the Scotland supporters for their behaviour. Mark Sheeran, of Metropolitan Police, confirmed there were "no issues inside the stadium". The 11,500 members of the Scotland Supporters Club members occupied the South Stand. Sheeran said: "The Scottish fans' behaviour was first class. There were no issues at all inside the stadium."
