A Little Bird Told Me

An early end to the season for Danny Grainger.

More bad news for Hearts as now they will have to do without left-back Danny Grainger as he needs knee surgery. The former Gretna, Dundee United and St Johnstone defender suffered cruciate ligament damage during Saturday's goalless draw at Motherwell when he landed awkwardly. Today's visit to a specialist confirmed his worst fears. Grainger wrote on his Twitter account: "Had some terrible news today about my injury to say I'm gutted is an understatement but unfortunately i will miss the rest of the season. I need an operation on my knee which means I'm gonna be out between 6-9 months! Lots of kind msgs from footballers and fans means a lot."
