USA midfielder Jermaine Jones has said he plans to finish his career at Champions League side Schalke 04 with his contract set to expire in 2014.

Jones, 30, has made 22 appearances for the USA, despite having won three caps for Germany in 2008 and joined Schalke in 2007 from Eintracht Frankfurt and had a loan spell at Blackburn Rovers last year.

"I have already told Horst Heldt (Schalke's manager), that I can imagine playing for Schalke for another four years," Jones has told German magazine Sport Bild.

"I think I don't want to transfer to any clubs in Europe and I want to end with Bundesliga career with Schalke.

"After that, I want to finish my career in the USA."

Schalke are currently third in the Bundesliga after seven matches, but the team has been whistled by a group of fans following their 2-2 draw at minnows Fortuna Duesseldorf and then at home to Montpellier in the Champions League.

"It is something I have never witnessed before with Schalke, it is not acceptable that young players are afraid of playing at home," he said.
