Schalke snare striker Ibraimi

Schalke have swooped to sign FYR Macedonia international Besart Ibraimi from FK Renova.

The 23-year-old striker has joined the Bundesliga club on a three-and-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

Ibraimi has been prolific in the Macedonian First Division and has scored eight goals in ten appearances this season,

"He'll give us a lot of enjoyment but he is also one for the future," explained coach Felix Magath.

Meanwhile, Mainz midfielder Tim Hoogland has signed a pre-contract agreement to join the Royal Blues at the end of the season.
