Schalke manager Felix Magath has claimed rival clubs interested in signing hot-shot striker Kevin Kuranyi will be able to offer him more lucrative terms in the summer.
He has netted 18 times in the Bundesliga this season and with his contract set to expire at the end of the campaign, it is widely believed he will move on when the Gelsenkirchen outfit play their final game at Mainz on May 8 and Magath has all but given up hope of him extending his stay.
"If we win the Bundesliga title, I will still be trying to persuade him to stay when we stand together, holding aloft the trophy," Magath mused.
"Up until last weekend, Kevin was the league's top scorer. He is without a contract and can earn more in other countries.
"If I listen to the things his advisors are saying, I imagine he is getting offers which Schalke can not match."
