Magath rules out Diego swoop

Schalke manager Felix Magath has ruled out the possibility of signing Brazilian playmaker Diego from Juventus this month.
The Royal Blues had been linked with Diego who is believed to be surplus to requirements in Turin. However, Magath could not have been clearer as, when asked about the player, he replied: "We are not signing Diego. We don't have any chance of that.
"However, we do have our eyes on players who have more quality than those players we already have."
Wolfsburg's Zvjezdan Misimovic is believed to be Magath's main target as he attempts to spend some of the 20 million euros he has been handed to mould together a squad that can challenge in the Bundesliga and Champions League this season.
