Magath attempts to rile Bayern

Schalke head coach Felix Magath has attempted to turn u[p the heat on Bundesliga title rivals Bayern Munich by suggesting that they will drop points in the closing weeks of the season.

Bayern lead the way by two points following a 7-0 weekend thrashing of Hannover, but Schalke remain on their tails after winning 3-1 at home to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Magath said after his side's success: "I am convinced that Bayern are going to drop some points.

"I don't think that they can win every game given the added strain of the Champions League.

"Bayern are close to the final and I think that is more important to the players than a game in Gladbach. We now have a very big chance to win the league and that is our aim."
