Flachi fails second drugs test

Troubled Brescia striker Francesco Flachi has failed a drugs test for the second time in his career, according to Italian Olympic Committee.

The 34-year-old tested positive for cocaine and was banned for two years while with Serie A side Sampdoria in 2007.

Flachi has now tested positive for the same substance following a random drugs test following a Serie B game between Brescia and Modena on December 19.

"CONI announces that a positive test has been confirmed on Francesco Flachi with the presence of substance benzoylecgonine found in tests done by the FIGC on December 19 after the Serie B clash between Brescia and Modena," read a statement from the Italian Olympic Committee

The veteran striker joined Bescia last summer in a bid to repair his tarnished career but he could now be handed a lifetime ban.
