Cassano staying with Samp

Antonio Cassano will definitely begin the new season at Sampdoria, according to his agent.

The former Italy striker has been strongly linked with a move away from the Luigi Ferraris this summer after successfully resurrecting his career at the Genoa club.

But despite revealing that Cassano came close to leaving in January, agent Beppe Bozzo claims his client is definitely not on the move during the summer.

"Inter and Juventus? Honestly, Cassano was closer to (joining) Juventus," he said.

"He was close to Juve during the winter, but he is happy to remain in Genoa.

"He has no intention of changing shirts and he is well aware of what happens when you join a big club. Antonio is a player who wants to play regularly."
