Fitchett on fire for Whites

Dan Fitchett scored twice and set up two more as Salisbury marched past Skrill Premier rivals Dartford and into the FA Cup second round.

With the Whites sat fifth in the league, entertaining Dartford who find themselves 18th, the visitors were always up against it after Fitchett opened the scoring in the 12th minute, racing on to a Chris McPhee through ball before smashing past Alan Julian.

And just five minutes later Salisbury doubled their lead, this time Fitchett turning provider as he pulled an Elliott Frear cross back for Ben Wright who fired into the roof of the net.

Just before the half-hour mark Fitchett headed a McPhee cross just wide but the hosts did head into half-time 3-0 as Frear blasted home a low Fitchett cross.

Dartford threatened a comeback when they scored in the 67th minute when captain Lee Burns made the most of his chance when a Ryan Hayes cross was only half cleared to score with a superb dipping volley from just inside the area.

But with 15 minutes left Flitchett glanced home a Frear free-kick to restore Salisbury's three-goal lead.

However Dartford ensured they had the last laugh as four minutes into injury time Cornhill side-footed home a Hayes cross.
