    Blues job not for Hiddink

    21 Apr 2008 - 15:58:57

Russia national team head coach Guus Hiddink will not be taking over at Chelsea next season according to the Dutchman's agent.

The position of Blues boss Avram Grant has been called into question despite the Israeli having impressed since taking over from Jose Mourinho earlier this season.

Hiddink had been mentioned as a leading contender to succeed Grant if Chelsea decided to make a change, but his representative, Cees van Nieuwenhuizen, says that there is no chance of that happening.

He told BBC Sport: "There is no chance of Guus going to Chelsea. He wants to end his career in international management.

"He signed a new deal in March that runs up to the 2010 World Cup and always honours his contracts.

"I don't know where these stories about Guus come from and I want to put an end to them once and for all.

"It isn't about money for Guus. It's about him having signed a contract and wanting to get on with his job with Russia."

Hiddink has enjoyed a glittering coaching career at both club and international level.

Before taking over as Russia coach two years ago, he enjoyed World Cup success with Australia, the Netherlands and South Korea as well as having spells in charge of PSV Eindhoven, Real Madrid, Valencia and Sevilla.
