Worst injury crisis of my career - Evans

With Steve Evans having just 16 fit players at training this week, he tells the Tiser that its the worst he's known it during his career.

He said: “We were well beaten last week and there were no excuses but at the same time if we win tomorrow we could be joint fourth. Let's put things into perspective. We're still in the hunt for promotion amidst the worst injury crisis I can remember as a manager. They are not just soft tissue injuries either.

“As I have indicated before, if we are within four or five points of the automatic promotion frame going into the new year then I will be delighted because we will only get better as the players get to know each other more and we get our big players back.

“Cheltenham are a good side and it's a big ask for us in the circumstances but the players have got to stand up and be counted and the same goes for Wycombe. That's a different sort of challenge because we'll be expected to dominate."

The Millers added Courtney Cameron to their side on loan from Aston Villa this afternoon and he'll wear squad number 31.

Young midfielder Nicky Walker has also been registered with the Football League and wears number 32.
