We've got a fantastic squad - Nards
Striker Daniel Nardiello looks back at the weekends win over Sheffield United and pays tribute to the squad and the gaffer.
The Millers came from a goal down to beat thier local rivals 3-1 after boss Steve Evans changed the shape of the team at half time.
Speaking in todays Star, Nards said; “Looking at the squad, and I said this last season - we have a fantastic squad, both in terms of depth and quality of player, We had two players away on international duty and one or two injuries too and still beat Sheffield United 3-1."
“I believe we definitely have a squad in place to do alright this season. I’m not saying we’re going to win the league or go up - it is far too early to say - but we have a belief in the squad and we are building some momentum."
“We have been unbeaten in the league so far and it’s a run which stretches back to the last five games of last season. There are a lot of players who can score goals and a lot of good defensive players.
“What is important is that this squad believes we can go out and win any game. That means taking each game individually, then let’s see where we are at the end of the year.”
The 30 year old looked back at the weekends win over Sheff U; “The Gaffer identified something wasn’t quite right, which is what he’s paid to do, and he was right to change to 4-4-2 and it helped us. We weren’t particularly poor in the first half but something wasn’t quite right and the change enabled us to do what we’re good at and to play to our strengths.
“We’ve got to keep producing what we have been doing, not get lazy, keep working hard and doing what we’re good at.” he added
