Taylor fee agreed as Douglas explains fixture changes

The Millers have completed all paperwork for Ryan Taylor's undisclosed fee move to Bristol City, while the Chief Operating Officer explains the away fixture changes. Taylor completes his move to Ashton Gate without a disclosed fee to the public as expected, but Paul Douglas confirmed to the clubs official website this morning that "the fee adequately compensates Rotherham United." Meanwhile Millers fans have been grumbling about several away fixtures moving to a Friday during the new season, and Douglas did his best to clear up the situation. "The Wimbledon game was actually changed at our request,' said Mr Douglas. "I felt that because we are playing Bank Holiday Monday, playing Friday would give an extra day of rest for the players. And it wouldn't hurt their revenues because Good Friday is traditionally a good football day and Wimbledon were happy to change." He added: "In the case of the Southend game it's just a traditional Friday night venue and I assume it's to try and reduce the competition with the London teams. 'Cheltenham is where we would have travelled up on New Years Eve and we thought that was asking a lot of our supporters, so bringing it forward a day allows everyone to enjoy the match and have a nice New Years Eve. Bristol Rovers clashes with a Bristol City game when both teams have been drawn to play at home on the same weekend and they felt that it would help their gate if they were able to bring the match forward a day so we were happy to oblige." Meanwhile the game with Swindon has been switched to an early kick off for Sky TV coverage. Here's the confirmed changes as follows: Swindon Town - Saturday 3rd September, 12.15pm (TV) Bristol Rovers - Friday October 14th, 7.45pm Cheltenham - Friday December 30th, 7.45pm Southend - Friday February 10th, 7.45pm AFC Wimbledon - Friday April 6th, 3pm  (Good Friday)
