Boss Mark Robins was disappointed by Rotherham United's performance in the 2-2 draw with Rochdale, despite the Millers mounting a stirring comeback.
Robins' side scored twice in the final 13 minutes to snatch a point at the Don Valley Stadium, but the manager felt that his side took too long to get into the game.
Robins told the club's official website: "I'm feeling relieved, but also a little disappointed and angry with our performance.
"We didn't start to play until their lad got sent off and that incident just seemed to wake us up, before that we just seemed fast asleep.
"I can't explain why we were so poor to start with.
"We prepared properly and got the right information, but at the end of the day it's eleven versus eleven and it's about who wants it more.
"We have good quality players at this club, but if you don't work you are going to be left standing."
