Rotherham United boss Mark Robins was delighted to have laid a ghost to rest with a comprehensive 3-2 victory at Morecambe.
The Millers were thrashed 5-1 at Christie Park last season and Robins has not forgotten that defeat.
He told the Sheffield Star: "We took the memory of the 5-1 defeat last season into this game, because that was the lowest point of last season, our worst away day with all that it entailed at that time following administration.
"It hurt then and this win has gone a long way to laying that particular ghost. I thought it was a one-off at the time and this proves it was.
"We used the memory of that day in March as motivation and it was nice to get revenge, but no-one is getting carried away.
"It's just another three points and no-one forgets that we are still minus 11 points."
