Rotherham United manager Mark Robins has called on his players to put all the club's off-field problems behind them and concentrate on winning matches on the pitch.
The Millers have said they will go into administration unless new investment can be secured within six weeks.
But former Manchester United star Robins insists: "For our part, as staff and players, we must forget any possible points penalty and get out and do our jobs and start winning again.
"For the fans, their part is to concentrate on getting behind the team as much as they can, put the off-field problems into the background and let other people try and sort them out.
"It's wonderful what a good result can do for a football club, particularly in difficult times, and we've all to pull together to try and achieve it.
"Off the field, the board are working hard to try and secure investment but we can only focus on our jobs.
"Of course, it's a possibility that we could get ten points deducted eventually but we've a great set of lads here and they're determined to put this to one side."
