Roberts to pen Millers deal

Rotherham United manager Ronnie Moore is on the verge of completing the signing of the former Crewe Alexandra and Yeovil Town midfielder Gary Roberts.

The 22-year-old has been on trial with the Millers for the last fortnight and has impressed Moore, who is willing to offer him a contract until the end of the season, with the option of a further year.

Roberts, who is a free agent after being released by Yeovil in September, had been on trial at Brighton before Russell Slade was axed.

Moore confirmed: "We've spoken to Gary and we're hoping that he'll put pen to paper this week."
