O'Connor the best outside the campionship - Evans

Speaking to the Advertiser, boss Steve Evans rates new midfielder Michael O'Connor as the best midfielder outside of the Championship.

Evans landed the 24 year old on a 2 year deal this week and he tell's the 'Tiser of his delight to have landed one of his main targets.

“Football is all about opinions and mine is that O'Connor is the best central midfielder outside the top four or five clubs in the Championship. I can understand why Scunthorpe paid Crewe £300,000 for him and a year or 18 months ago we might have been talking a seven-figure fee because in the past he has been linked with clubs in the Premier League."

“He was my first priority when I came here and we're delighted to have him. He's technically outstanding, wholehearted and aggressive. He's got the whole repertoire." Evans said.
