Millers wrap up Cahill deal

Rotherham have completed the signing of Tom Cahill after finalising the details of the striker's transfer with Matlock Town.

The Millers announced the signing of the 20-year-old striker last week, but the deal took a further seven days to be finalised.

Cahill was spotted as he helped Matlock reach the Unibond League Premier Division play-offs and was invited for a trial in which he played for the Millers' reserve side.

"That performance confirmed my thoughts about him," said Millers manager Mark Robins.

"He's a strong boy who works really hard and there's plenty to work with and we see potential there.

"There were just a couple of points to be sorted out with Matlock and this has all been done and he'll be joining us for pre-season work."
