Rotherham United chairman Denis Coleman says that the money the club will receive from Watford for Will Hoskins and Lee Williamson will keep the Millers alive until the end of next season.
Both players have penned deals with the Premiership strugglers until June 2010 and Coleman wishes them all the best.
He told the club's official website: "We've tried our best to keep the lads at Millmoor but it wasn't to be. I really wish Will and Lee the very best in their move and hope they both do well in the Premiership.
"The deal will see our club financially secure until the end of the 2007-08 season, and hopefully we can now move forward.
"I'm sure all our fans will agree that Alan Knill has done a fantastic job bringing players in to Millmoor, and this shows by the amount of Premiership clubs looking at our team."
Toumani Diagouraga moves in the opposite direction after the Hornets midfielder agreed to switch to Rotherham on loan until the end of the season.
