Millers make double swoop

Rotherham United boss Ronnie Moore has moved swiftly to capture the signings of two youngsters to bolster his squad.

Gavin Gunning, 19, and Marcus Marshall, 20, have both joined temporarily from Premier League side Blackburn Rovers.

With the Millers flying-high in the upper echelons of League Two, Moore has acted to add depth to his ranks.

Defender Gunning has signed a one-month deal with winger Marshall joining on a one-month emergency loan.

Speaking to the club's official website, Moore said: "Gavin is a bright lad and certainly one for the future, there is no doubt about that.

"He has had a spell at Tranmere Rovers in League One so he has played at a higher level.

"Marcus is a bright young lad who has had an excellent grounding at Blackburn Rovers.

"He will come in to provide much needed cover with both Paul Warne and Andy Liddell currently out of action with injury."

The pair will be in contention for a call-up to the squad ahead of their League Two clash against Grimsby Town on Tuesday.
