Rotherham United manager Mark Robins praised the fringe members of his squad who helped seal a 1-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory over Mansfield Town.
The Millers earned their place in the hat for the second round draw courtesy of Ian Sharps' decisive goal in the 49th minute at Field Mill.
"I thought we played some decent stuff at times and it was a good result for us as we have had some draws of late and it gets you back to winning ways," Robins told the club's official website.
"Mansfield put up a good fight and they threw everything at us, but we dealt with it quite comfortably.
"We might have had a penalty but overall I thought it was a fair result, although we might well have gone on and won by a bigger margin.
"I made a few changes and we played a different formation but it was the first time we have used that so it went alright."
