Rotherham United boss Mark Robins has snapped up the former Grimsby Town defender Nick Fenton on a two-year deal while teenage goalkeeper Mark Oxley has moved to Hull City for an initial transfer fee of £150,000.
Fenton, who made almost 100 appearances for the Mariners after previously playing for Notts County, Bournemouth and Doncaster Rovers, is Robins' sixth signing of the summer.
Robins told the Millers' official website: "We were looking for an experienced replacement for Graham Coughlan and Nick will come in and provide us with that.
"He'll be a threat in both penalty areas and brings with him a wealth of experience, which includes a Wembley appearance in last season's Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
"That's the kind of background we need for the situation we're in at the moment."
