It was great to be out there - Tids

Midfielder Michael Tidser made his full Millers debut at York on Tuesday, and was happy to finally get his chance.

After joining in the summer from Greenock Morton, the Scot has had to wait for his first start in Steve Evans' side but says he can't complain due to the sides great start to the season.

He spoke to The Star saying: “The boys have been flying so I can’t complain really. It was really great to finally get out there from the start and I did think there would be a chance with it being a cup game.

“But it’s about being patient and continuing to work hard and I’ll keep on working hard and I’ll bide my time - it’s a long season and I’ll keep plugging away.

“Competition is strong,” added Tids, who is seen as one for the future at only 23 years of age. “They’re a great bunch of lads and confidence is high and we’ll keep working hard. Results like the one at Brentford (last weekend) get people taking notice of what you’re doing.”

Despite a good display in the 3-0 JPT win, Tidser is likely to find himself back amongst the substitutes this weekend as Swindon visit the NYS.

With the pending return from injury of Michael O'Connor and the form of Rob Milsom, the young man will have to continue to be patient and train hard to impress the management team.
