I'll always be a Miller - Brian
Former Director Brian Chapple speaks to the Advertiser about his resignation from the RUFC Board.
Brian suffered a stroke earlier in the year and had made a good recovery, but has decided to resign from his post as Community Director, Speaking to the Advertiser today he gives his reasons why.
“The club have been fantastic to me; everyone there has been so supportive. But the way things are going, everything is moving so quickly now and there's a lot to do. It needs someone full-time and the fact is that I am 63 now and I have been very poorly. If I am not careful I could make myself poorly again and I can't take that risk. Every job I do I give 100 per cent and it's not fair to myself or the club to carry on.”
“I have been helping Rotherham United for 30 years and I will continue to help them. I will always be a Miller.”
Meanwhile the club thanked Brian in a statement; "We would like to thank Brian for his enthusiasm, passion and commitment to the club over many years and are pleased to know that we can always call on his wealth of knowledge and experience to help us move forward during these exciting times.”
