I'd love to rub it in Rotherham's faces - Pope

Problem striker Tom Pope says if he nets the winner in next weeks game against the Millers he can't wait to rub it in the fans' faces. Pope, back at boyhood club Port Vale, scored in Saturdays draw at his former side and Vale's local rivals Crewe, but didn't celebrate out of respect for the Railwaymen. However despite Rotherham backing him during his failed time at Don valley which was marred by off field incident in his personal life, comments from certain fans on Facebook and also several unsavoury interviews from the player himself, Pope says he'd love to stick the knife in. He told BBC Radio Stoke; "It was nice to get on the scoresheet but I didn't want to rub it in too much. They (Crewe) brought me in from non-league, they helped my career and helped me play in games like this. "I've got a lot more respect for Dario Gradi, the players and the fans than to go wild and cause too much trouble." "I left here on good terms and it was only the ex-manager Gudjon Thordarson that I fell out with. The fans have always been great and I still speak to all of the players. "It's a different story at Rotherham so it would be nice if I could get the winner and three points against them and rub it in a few of their faces."
