Eight interested in Millers
11 Apr 2008 - 13:49:59
Rotherham United's administrator has revealed that there are eight consortia interested in taking over the cash-strapped club.
Jeremy Bleazard of XL Business Solutions has extended the deadline for offers for the club until Friday April 18, but has revealed there is plenty of interest in the Millers.
"In the interest of creditors and to achieve the best possible bid for the club, I have agreed to this request and have extended the deadline by one week," he told the club's official website.
"The problem any administrator faces when trading a company is that of funding the business until completion of a sale.
"I am seeking deferrals and have implemented other essential cost savings to reduce the outgoings of the club.
"However match day and other costs cannot be reduced. I am at a stage where help is required to fund the club's everyday survival until a funder or purchaser is found.
"I am looking for donations, regardless of size, to assist the day-to-day running of the club."
