Warrington admits to have been suprised when his 6 year stay with the Milers was ended last week as boss Steve Evans released the 37 year old fans favorite.
Having made 32 appearances in the Millers promotion season has made the veteran want to stay in the game he told the Advertiser; "This season has proved to me that I can still play. I am hoping to but obviously there are a lot of players out of contract at the minute so we shall have to wait and see. I am just waiting for that phone call."
“Looking forward, I'd like to stay in the game in some capacity. I recently completed my UEFA B outfield badge and I'm going for the UEFA B goalkeeping course next."
“I still have a lot of affection for Rotherham United and would like to return one day but that's all in the future. I came here to try and get promoted and it took six years. In that time there has been some ups and downs but there is finally some stability here now. We've won promotion and I feel I have been part of it.”
Woggy played a part in Paul Warnes testimonial game last weekend and got a final farewell from the 3,000 present; “I know that plenty say it, but I really mean it when I say that I can't thank people enough for the support I have been given here, The supporters have always been first class with me and I didn't expect the send-off I got last weekend. They pulled me through some dark times last season and when my dad died I got a lot of messages of support. It was really humbling."
“The chairman too has been fantastic with me and I owe him a lot, as do the people of Rotherham. This club is all geared up for a lot higher grade football now. I want to wish the players, the staff and the club the very best.” he added
