Chairman Tony Stewart speaks to the Star and says the response for the vAcant managers job has been overwhelming.

Stewart is set to appoint the new Millers boss shortly, but hasn't rushed the decision and insists he wants to get it right for the fans.

He said: “We want someone who has been there and done it. They have to have experience in management. We are not looking for someone who wants to come here and learn the ropes. We need someone who can hit the ground running. We would like the manager to have the drive and passion to take us into League One and then the Championship.

“We have had some marvellous applicants. I have been astounded in regards to the quality of the managers who have applied. Some are out of work, some are in work. It has certainly attracted a lot of names. i think the fact we are moving to the new stadium and away from Don Valley has made a big difference.

“We are not going to rush the decision - I’m not putting a timescale on it. What we have got to do this time is reward the fans of Rotherham. We are taking our time to make sure we get the right person in."
