After the Millers rejected another bid from Sheffield Wednesday for top scorer Adam Le Fondre, the Millers chairman tells them to get real. Wednesday tabled a rumoured £300k+ bid yesterday for Alf, which would mean just £100k of that coming to the Millers up front. Tony Stewart told the Star today; “I looked at it and laughed. It wasn’t serious. It wasn’t enough. As a businessman, I don’t want anybody trying to take me to the cleaners; £100,000 is less than we paid Rochdale for the guy. “All I am saying to any club if they want Alf is to come to us and get real.” Chief operating officer Paul Douglas also told Radio Sheffield that the Millers don't have to sell Alf who has scored 4 times already this season. "We have not enouraged them to go away and come back, we have simply said that that won't be enough and quite honestly if they don't come back that will be fine by us, we are more than happy for Adam to stay our player until the end of the season and hopefully beyond that. But the likelyhood is that he will leave at the end of the season as he feels he can play at a higher level." Douglas said. Meanwhile Wednesday boss Gary Megson told the Star; “We have made what I consider to be really good offers for players who are in the last year of their contracts. I don’t think the clubs will get that kind of money again for them.”
