Tomorrow's visit to the newly-named Proact Stadium is the Millers first since they were trounced 5-0 there on live TV last year, and new boss Evans is out to gain some revenge for the game that saw Ronnie Moore sacked.
He told Advertiser: “Ronnie Moore has been good with me and I know how much he cares for this club. The big man would be the first to accept that his time here has come and gone but that defeat hurt him. When I was at Boston I lost a derby 6-0 at home to Grimsby so I appreciate how it feels.
“It would be nice to win and speak to him on Saturday night and say ‘a bit of that was for you’ and put a smile on his face, but we ultimately want to win for our supporters and the chairman. It's a derby and there is pride at stake. We have to be in the trenches at 3 o'clock ready for battle because if you're not then you could find yourself two down.
“We are going to fill the away end and I would ask every single supporter to get behind us.”
Looking further ahead after Tuesdays loss to Northampton, the Millers chief added: “The opening ten games are massive for us and if we're challenging after them then we will be challenging at the end of the season.”
