Speaking to Radio Sheffieild, Steve Evans says that a deal to bring Matt Tubbs to NYS was agreed, until he scored 2 goals in as many games.

"We're back to the drawing board regarding a striker, we're not going to get him, so we'll address it next week, it's no hidden secret within the game who was signing for us but he's come on as a sub in a game at the weekend and scored, and he's scored again on Tuesday. I'd fall off the tree if they made him available now."

"Everything was agreed for Matt Tubbs but he come on as a sub and got a last minute goal which he is always capable of and scored again on Tuesday, what we thought was probably going to happen today goes out of the window." he added
