MillersMAD revealed earlier in he week that Cresswell will sit out the next few matches, and Scott confirmed the extent of the injury speaking to Millersplayer.
"The swelling has gone down so he went to see the consultant and it isn't great news," said Scott. "We have to wait for a week now for another consultation just to see where we are with it but at the moment there is a possibility of surgery, which obviously isn't great for us.
"It gives us a problem but we are fortunate that Johnny Mullins has come back fitness but it is a difficult one, having to put him into games this early," he added.
"We are looking for extra cover on loan in that area because we need to make sure with the games coming up that we continue the momentum to keep us at the top of the league."
