Scott facing difficult summer

Rotherham boss Andy Scott concedes he has his work cut out to keep Ryan Taylor and Nicky Law at the club. Both men are out of contract in the summer and have yet to sign new deals, with striker Taylor opting to wait to see whether the Millers could earn promotion before committing his future to the club. Scott sat down with the pair last week in a bid to convince them to sign new contracts, but, with any promotion hopes now dead, the boss knows he is up against it. "They are both open to negotiations which from our point of view is promising but until anything is signed then it's up in the air," he said. "We will do our best to make sure they sign. "Not getting promotion won't help but I'd like to think the vision and the direction we have got at the football club will help and they will see over the close season that we are a club that is on the up. "Hopefully that encourages them to want to be around, it is going to take a bit of persuading and convincing but I hope they stay at the club."
