Rovers return for assistant Patterson

Assistant boss Darren Patterson returns to his former employers tomorrow night and says he's looking to build with the Millers what he achieved at the Memorial Ground.

Patterson left Bristol Rovers in June after two years helping restructure the youth setup and the aim at Rotherham is to try and achieve similar kinds of success.

“It’s taken a couple of years but it’s paying dividends now. They’re top of their youth league and have four or five kids who, in my opinion, will go on to Premiership clubs when they come through to the first team and that's what we'll try and do here", said Patterson speaking to the Star.

Aswell as being assistant to Andy Scott in first team affairs Patterson oversees the reserves and academy players along with Darren Sarll, and added; "it was two bloody hard years of graft at Rovers and getting the right people in because we restructured the whole thing from nine years up to 18s and it’s a proper set-up.

“I’m looking forward to going back there and I’ll know what to expect on Friday.”

Meanwhile Andy Scott confirmed Andy Warrington will continue in goal for the Millers after playing in the last matches.

"Warro has been an excellent pro and worked ever so hard", he told Radio Sheffield.
