Strike duo out for Millers

Rotherham will be without strikers Daniel Nardiello and Danny Hylton for their Capital One Cup Round 1 tie with local rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

Nardiello (hamstring) and Hylton (groin) both missed Saturday's thrilling 3-3 draw with Crewe in League One and have not had time to recover.

Matt Tubbs, who came on as a substitute at Gresty Road, will be hoping boss Steve Evans changes system and he gets the nod to partner Alex Revell in attack.

Evans has no other injuries, but could be tempted to hand starts to Kieran Agard, David Noble and Michael Tidser.

Sheffield Wednesday defender Joe Mattock will have a scan on his injured knee and will miss the tie.

Mattock, who started at left-back in the opening-day defeat at QPR, sustained the injury in the first half and could be sidelined for several weeks.

But latest signing Kamil Zayatte is expected to be included, subject to international clearance, and another defender, Lewis Buxton, could feature after missing the weekend defeat due to shin splints.

Midfielder Rhys McCabe, striker Gary Madine, summer signing Jacques Maghoma, midfielder Jose Semedo, plus defenders Miguel Llera and Martin Taylor are all hoping to play some part after starting on the bench or missing out completely at the weekend.
